Our invited speakers\u00a0will approach these topics from several distinct angles:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Dynamics of large biological networks\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Theme:\u00a0<\/em>How can we analyze and extract meaningful answers from large networks without getting lost in minute details?<\/li>\n<li><strong> From big\u00a0network data to cell phenotype\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Theme:<\/em> How do large, data-driven networks help us uncover the logic of and predict cell behavior?<\/li>\n<li><strong> Evolution in cellular networks\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Theme:<\/em> How does evolution shape cellular networks? How does this lead to an organism&#8217;s genetic traits and behaviors?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Goal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mix ideas that originate from top-down focus on regulatory networks with insight from smaller-scale modeling, tightly coupled to experimental biology.<\/li>\n<li>Spark new questions, seed the development of new approaches and advance our understanding of regulatory network biology on multiple levels of organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The half-day workshop on <strong>May 28th<\/strong>\u00a0will feature four invited speakers, three contributed talks and a small number of posters (please see our preliminary <a href=\"http:\/\/erzsoregan.voices.wooster.edu\/program-2019\/\">Program<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Following our satellite, we encourage you to stick around for \u00a0<strong>Network Medicine &#8217;19 <\/strong>in the afternoon (<a href=\"http:\/\/sharmalab.bwh.harvard.edu\/netmed19\/\">http:\/\/sharmalab.bwh.harvard.edu\/netmed19\/<\/a>). <em>NetMed<\/em> has a fabulous speaker lineup and explores similar themes to our workshop, \u00a0with a stronger medical focus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Invited Speakers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Anne-Ruxandra Carvunis<\/strong>, University of Pittsburg School of Medicine<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jorge Za\u00f1udo<\/strong>, Pennsylvania State University<\/li>\n<li><strong>John Platig<\/strong>,\u00a0Brigham and Women&#8217;s Hospital, Harvard Medical School<\/li>\n<li><strong>Istv\u00e1n A. Kov\u00e1cs<\/strong>, Northeastern University<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Call for\u00a0Abstracts<\/strong><br \/>\nThe workshop will host two contributed talks (15 minutes including\u00a0questions) and a small number of posters.\u00a0Swift application for contributed talks and poster presentaitons is welcome (<strong><em>the\u00a0latest date for consideration is March 10)<\/em><\/strong>.
